Primary Medical Uses
- Partial-Onset Seizures: Used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat seizures that begin in a specific area of the brain for adults and children.
- Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy: Used as an add-on therapy in patients 12 years and older to treat sudden, shock-like muscle jerks (myoclonic seizures).
- Primary Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures: Used in combination with other medicines in patients 6 years and older to treat generalized seizures that affect the entire body (formerly known as grand mal seizures).
