Simethicone + Activated Charcoal dual-coated tablets are used to treat gastrointestinal distress by relieving excess gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort. The dual-coating allows Simethicone to release in the stomach to break up gas bubbles, while Activated Charcoal passes into the intestines to trap and absorb odor and gas-causing toxins.

Primary Uses

  • Flatulence & Bloating: Alleviates the feeling of pressure, fullness, and swelling caused by trapped intestinal wind.
  • Indigestion: Helps soothe general digestive discomfort and gas-related cramping, often after eating trigger foods.
  • Gas Relief: Acts via a dual-action mechanism:
    • Simethicone acts as an anti-foaming agent that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles so they can be easily expelled.
    • Activated Charcoal acts as an adsorbent, binding and trapping gas molecules and microbial toxins in the digestive tract.

How to Take It

  • Dosage: Typically 1 to 2 tablets taken after meals or at bedtime, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew it, as the dual-coating is meant to delay the release of charcoal until it reaches the intestines.

Important Considerations

  • Drug Interactions: Because of Activated Charcoal's high absorbency, it can bind to other medications and prevent your body from absorbing them. Always take this tablet at least 2 hours apart from other medications.
